So I have a map that I bought, and worldedit was working fine on it and my other maps. My friend tried to copy and paste on it though, and this happened.
My friend tried to paste a school, then blocks showed up.

We tried to remove it, but it multiplied.

Then I got disconnected, then came back on, and it was back to normal.

This happened to me once, just switch server and it should go away.

It's a visual World Edit but and doesn't affect anything (the blocks are not actually there). Relogging fixes it.
