k so I really don't play anymore because literally nobody else does but if people were to actually get on the server (old friends & teammates) then I'd probably come back, same with many others most likely. best time to "revive" the server (quotations because it probably won't happen but who knows) is right when summer starts so if you guys care about WarZ you should probably implement what I suggest here rn

    1) Large scale event. not some small event like king of the hill or a free for all. I'm talking about a 1 or 2 month long event in which you wipe the elo system and give whoever gets the highest elo without boosting by the end of the time period a lifetime rank. not 1 week of elite like you guys have been doing or something small like that, because it really is not worth it. same with a month. honestly the only way people would come back is if they have a chance at getting a top tier prize.

    2) free MVP. a lot of people don't play because they don't want to pay to win (which is literally 100% what this server is). if players are given MVP for all of June or June-july (summer) it would give players reason to come back and possibly get them interested in the gamemode again after summer's over. this is a must to be honest, nobody will play as a whitename because of the way you guys designed the ranking system. it's only fun when you're ranked so that's the only way people will play.

    3) weekly events. like War Fun Sundays, there needs to be weekly boosters and small events on the server. 1 hour probably wouldn't be sufficient, would need to last around 2 or 3 so more people would show up and get the chance to participate (events like hide and seek, etc. not events that only last around 30 minutes. aka events that you can do multiple rounds of).

    4) staff members need to stop ignoring reports from WarZ. I personally know several moderators from the time I played that made the choice to ignore WarZ reports because they didn't want to get involved in the toxic community or the server in general. that's 100% a huge problem because one of the reasons warz died was because of the immense amount of cheaters that the game held. this includes xrayers, aimbotters, all of them. it could be easy to get them banned as well if 1) you had a screenshare protocol OR 2) a competent moderator watched them in vanish for the whole duration of a fight. although fights can sometimes last up to an hour, it's important for the staff member to watch them the whole time because the cheating community on warz is a lot more subtle about their hacks than other servers, as it's been proven many times (@JayOG can probably confirm).

    5) monthly additions to the map. warz can sometimes get stale because the map literally never changes. it's the same places over and over again. one of the reasons Fortnite is popular today is because they make constant map updates, adding/removing locations, updating them, etc. adding locations to the map would keep people interested. on old map (servers 3-4), one of the reasons the Alcatraz zone 6 was a failure was because it was built far north just like snow and nether. it was way out of the way, and generally wasn't worth traveling to. there need to be zone 6s more diversely placed on the map, not just far north. the new map was better at this with making army a zone 6.

    6) give unranked players more perks. WarZ is generally unplayable without a rank. everybody knows that, yet little to nothing has been done to change it. the whole server is pay to win and that caused many people to quit. give all unranked players the ability to /tpa, but give them a 1 or 2 hour cool down. give them access to an enderchest, but make it so they only get a few slots to put their items in instead of the whole chest. you shouldn't need to pay to compete with people efficiently in a game.

    7) safezones. give players safe zones throughout the map to where pvp is disabled. this would give players places to loot (zone 4 and below loot) without worrying about being killed. make it so you can't teleport to another player within the safe zone, and the only way to get into it is to either
    -run there
-./safezone. this command would take 30 seconds to complete, and would teleport you to the nearest safe zone. this would prevent people from easily fleeing from fights.
this is to prevent new players from constantly getting killed and leaving the game because of it. there's an extremely significant skill gap in the warz community, and the reason is because new players are given no opportunity to improve in combat. there's no tutorial, no tips to make them better at fighting (they never know about comboing), and they end up quitting because they're killed by ranked players.

    8) tutorial. make a detailed tutorial similar to the one on WildWest. take the new players through the different locations around the map, teach them about comboing guns, about zones, guns, etc. implement a command like "/locations" and it'll tell you the coordinates of different locations such as nether, snow, etc. (depending on the server map you're on). the maps that are given to players are often difficult to understand and glitch out constantly. this command would need to be put in the tutorial and reminded in constant chat messages to players.

@Paul (though I don't know if you still do stuff for warz)@SoCool21 (you asked for ideas) @chickenputty (owner dude)

@NMHRODMAN1SBEST @Carsonn @Yorei @Ritzy just a question would this make you more interested in coming back if these were implemented? I know the biggest reason people don't play is because nobody else does, but I still remember WarZ fights being very fun and intense whenever there was a large one.

    opinions encouraged

The current state of WarZ isn't appealing to come back to. If I'm going to come back to a gamemode, I want a massive overhaul while keeping important mechanics. If this is met, the playerbase rises, and Moderators are involved in the community, I'm sure players who have the time would consider coming back, if only for a little while.

    1. yes
    2. eh, brawl overall is needy for money so doubtful of this happening
    3. yes, dont know why warz hasnt had this in the first place.
    4. staff team is just aids for the most part and a lot of it's also due to them not wanting to deal with the toxicity of warz but also them being lazy.
    5. eh maybe, sometimes **** edits are added which piss off the playerbase so have someone who genuinely connects with the playerbase do the edits, *cough* @JayOG *cough*
    6. this was talked about heavily like a year or two ago but sadly it was never added.

Perhaps very limited teleportation, once every 30 minutes or even less depending on the weigh-in of others. Enough to keep incentive to buy a rank, but also enough to make being a whitename workable if you're not extremely experienced.

sadly it's probably the only way a lot of people would come back

happened in the past when everybody was given elite and a lot of people came back

now the only thing left to do with them is implement them and thats the responsibility the staff should take @Socool21(all staff)
the communitys coming forward with idea on how to bring back the server and make it better and we cant do it alone we need brawls help as well so dont ignore this and communicate with us on how to get it done

I’ve finished college now and getting into a job so I’m gonna have tons more free time so yeah if this happens I don’t see why I wouldn’t give it a try. I just don’t want to be the one that has to revive it basically.

To reply to your tag, I'd be very interested if I see this happening. The only reason I stopped playing is because nobody else does, but the game itself was still fun to play for me. @Ritzy free time eh?

I'm hoping to turn this into a regular thing which we do on all gamemodes. Similar to the old Skywars tourney (just without iPads as the prize..... remember when Brawl was making enough money to give out iPads for tourneys? q,q) and the one raid had. Not sure if lifetime ranks will be given out if we do them regularly, but the rank should last for quite a long time.

I'm not sure if basing this event off of ELO would be a good idea though. I'm obviously not that experienced with WarZ, but from what I've heard ELO is a pretty unreliable system. I'd rather see an event where you get points every time you get a kill (but, to prevent farming off new players, it'd have to be in certain zones in the map where fights between good players tend to happen). Measures would be put in place to prevent people abusing alts.

I'll see what I can do.

We have something similar to this planned. I can't go into details yet but hopefully it will end up being a lot more interesting than War Fun Sundays.

Completely agreed with most of this (just not the screenshare protocol bit - I'll get into that).

I don't really know if staff members ignore specific server reports or not, I don't really pay attention to that. I have heard people say that not many staff members go after reports and it's something I've tried to improve on (I now rarely play Brawl, I'm usually just on moderating) but it's something the whole staff team will need to improve on.

Do you have any ideas how we can get everyone to start going after reports. It's easy to say "Oh, staff should just do it, it's their job" but that's not really going to fix any solutions. I've tried thinking of ways to track how many reports that a certain staff member ignores but that could be unfair to people who are busy dealing with something else (such as being on Brawl to build maps for upcoming gamemodes, or on the test server, or helping out players with an issue on one of the servers) or would be unfair to people who just play Brawl a lot.

As for the screenshare bit - unfortunately, screensharing just isn't viable anymore. The vast majority of clients require you to check the user's entire computer to find, and although a lot of people might not be using these clients at the moment (as they don't have to), the word will soon spread that we're screensharing and people will start using these clients. It's a short-term "solution" (if you could call it that). Having to look through the entire computer to find a hacked client is only the start of it - there are some clients (very rare and expensive to get a hold of, but they exist and work and will eventually become more and more mainstream if practice servers continue to rely on screensharing) which run off of a different computer to the one you're playing on. It is theoretically possible to detect this via screensharing but it's incredibly unrealistic to do this especially on a large scale. Theoretically, it's possible to have clients run in the kernel, and although I'm not sure if these exist yet I'm sure they will eventually.

The main problem with screensharing is the techniques that clients use to hide themselves are becoming more and more sophisticated, and due to technical limitations it's hard for any server with any budget, let alone Brawl, to keep up. It's better to detect hacks the old fashioned way.

Something we could do to improve this, however, is making it easier for staff to detect ghost clients. On WarZ, make it so the tracker can only track players who are at least 50 (number can change) blocks away. That means they can't use it to track where a player is on the other side of a wall. Also, making the abuse of F3+A to see through blocks should be against the rules (it's a glitch anyway).

There's more to this I wanted to write but I won't be around for a while to finish it off and I want to get this response out there. Sorry.

man lets be honest, no one cares about upcoming gamemodes or anything you're testing lol. every "new gamemode" has died out within a week or two, such as battle royal/wildwest although i'll give it to wildwest, that lasted a bit longer. As i've never been staff, I have no clue as to how the report system works but you could make it so all reports are clickable therefore a certain staff member can take hold of a certain report and it'll be known that they're dealing with it. They'll also have to deny/accept the report as if it was a report on the website just so theres some proof that they actually did check out said player instead of merely clicking the report and just returning to whatever they were doing.

huge events should not really be 'regular' for every gamemode per say, but there should be large events for brawl in general (in other words switch event game modes, don't hold a large warz event regularly but hold a random server event regularly). the whole point in a lifetime rank giveaway is that it shouldn't be regularly, this event should just be a one time thing to get people back into the gamemode and the only way to make people interested is if there's a lifetime rank involved.
yeah I don't think so either I just chose Elo because it's already implemented into warz and didn't want to get Mario to add another system into the server (point system) but if he's up for it that'll be a lot better.

the thing is points per kill would not be very great because you could just camp noob towns and spawn kill easy targets, which is why the elo system is a lot better. ELO isn't that unreliable to be honest, the only thing wrong with it is elo boosting (taking off armor and killing teammates that have full diamond repeatedly) but even then it's still been countered with the /killstats command (allows you to see the amount of times you've killed a player).
changing the distance a player can track on the compass won't change the fact that you can see where they are behind a wall. the compass points you in the direction of where an enemy is, so if the enemy is behind a wall the compass will point to where he is behind the wall. f3+a should've been banned a long time ago

An ELO based competition for something big sounds interesting and fun. Anyone can catch an ELO booster easy as well. There isn't a need for a Kill System, plus that can get abused easily as well. ELO is the same but we can track it, easier than the point system. Regular events every Sunday is always an idea I thought would of been great. Also, a free rank for the event sunday could be a thing. Make it so everyone who joins, 3 - 4 pm est will have ELITE during that time period. It would really help out since people always love those certain types of events anyways

if a free rank is only given out for an hour people would only play for an hour and then quit again. the best way to make sure people stay on the server is to give them a free rank for an extended period of time in order to get them back into the game. it takes a while to get interested in a game once again, a 1 hour event will not revive the player base although it would make some people interested

no not every week I meant it as a one time thing to get people back into the game

i.e. for the month of June give everybody MVP so people come back and get reinterested in it

A whole month when people gets ranks will not happen, maybe a 2 day period like we did before the map/stats we reset. So yah, maybe even 3 days, to get people into the train. Besides that though, it won't be that long.

I just don't think that it would happen, nor would Putty let it go on for 2 months. That's a decent chunk of income down the drain.
