Idea The engineer rework we've all been waiting for

    Armor remains the same

    Hot bar:
    Engineer pickaxe (sharpness II)
    Steak (4)
    Control structure (wood sword)
    Now, you may notice that there is no turret, regenerator, or teleporter.
    That is intended.
    Now, instead of those, structures will be added to maps- permanently.
    What are the structures?

    Turret: (4-6 per map, can be added by creating 4 nether brick fences in a plus and putting a dispenser in the middle)
    An engineer that has stepped into the wool on the turret claims that turret and can operate it.
    The wool will change color accordingly:

    Once controlled, the turret will fire ONLY manually with the sword. However, the turret now deals 4 hearts of TRUE damage on impact. Because turrets can't be put in pesky places, this high damage is not OP, and actually controls crowds well as well as provides cover fire for teammates. (The turret should now have infinite range as well)
    What other structures?
    There's only one more.

    This can be added by putting redstone ore on top of lapis ore on top of a stone half slab

    When controlled by an an engineer, it gives the engineer strength II and resistance II for 1 minute every 5 seconds that the engineer in controlling the structure by being in the wool radius.
    When the engineer or any other member of their team steps on the restock station, all their items are refilled along with all their health, provided they stand there for 3 seconds and the engineer doesn't leave the wool area.

    NOTE: Theese structures cannot be used without an engineer.

    What I was going for:
    I was looking for something that both limited engineer's ability to set up camp wherever it wanted in mass quantities and buffed its ability to help teammates. I wanted the restock station to be something that allowed for an engineer to amass a very strong group of teammates while also buffing itself. I wanted the turret not to annoy people in random places and make engineers impossible to remove, but something that both exposes the engineer and provides effective cover fire.

    This probably won't work out and I realize that. But I want to bring having preset structures into the picture. I think it's the only true way to fix engineer's campyness.

    Looks nice, but lots of work would be done in order to see where these structures need to be placed, I think that another block should replace the dispenser considering that the dispenser can only face one direction :stuck_out_tongue:. Looks nice overall, I'm kind of iffy on some of them, but hey, we've got a great community to complain about those mistakes. I'm not one here to judge ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ .

    theres a reason why the restock update back in mcpvp was never implented

    Cool idea, but it doesn't really belong in the current CTF.

    How so? I don't see any reason not to have premade structures that are interactive.

    Can you elaborate as to why? I'm fine with this not going anywhere but I just want to know somewhat how to fix engi

    It changes CTF quite drastically, and I'm not a fan to be honest. The main point of CTF is obviously capture the flag, with the only obstacles being other players. Adding turrets not only changes every map negatively aesthetic-wise, but also adds more obstacles that could confuse new players. In class reworks, we have to be careful not to change the game too much with it. Each class can be played independently, with as many of that class as need be. This kind of limits engineers to a set amount, which doesn't seem such a great idea to me.

    I'd also sorta miss turret meadows ;_;

    I believe this doesn't fix anything and just makes the class more confusing and complicated.
    As well as this. Engineer isn't the most important thing right now.
