Small Sheriff nerf

    Kinda weird I thought of a Wild West idea, even though I haven't played in so long.

    The idea is to have a small delay in handcuffing instead of a cooldown, giving that tiny but gamechanging nerf to Sheriffs.
    Cooldown between handcuffing.
    EDIT: [You'd have to press right click and hold the handcuffs] for 2-3 seconds to handcuff (not sure what is best time) and the processing bar would show the time. The player can't move or attack when handcuffed.
    If the handcuffing is stopped midway there's a 1.5 sec cooldown. It's needed because otherwise the Sheriff could spam the victim and make the delay system pointless.

    EDIT: For everyone who says it's going to be too hard to handcuff: It's supposed to be harder, but still quite easy: What I've heard about WW is that there only a couple of good teams. That means everyone else doesn't need a team of Sheriffs to capture. The idea is just one nerf, that is supposed to change Sheriff gameplay for good. I'm basing this off the community (Sheriff threads and ideas).





    Lel made this up 3:20 AM. For some reason I feel like this idea is a great one, even if I say so myself.

    This is a problem when teammates of the arrestee are around. The sheriff will most likely get attacked.

    If you can't move while cuffing someone, how are you supposed to catch them once they start to run?

    This would need some tweaks but I would love to see this added
    I got handcuffed during a massive fight today and I was a little salty

    All I'm saying is that you shouldn't be able to cuff someone while they're punching you in the face. Doesn't make sense.

    The logic behind "this is a video game" does not mean we should forgo having logical features of the game such as if a player is shanking you, you should not be able to handcuff them. Handcuffs are the sneaky, nonviolent way of taking down/inspecting bandits. You shouldn't be able to cuff someone while they're flailing and stabbing/punching you. Regardless, any attempt on the bandit's part, whether it be by melee or ranged means, to attack the sheriff gives them the right to take the bandit out, thereby making cuffs unnecessary.

    How are we meant to handcuff players... at all? Anyone who knows how sheriffs work would just run, and we would not be able to handcuff them. And since handcuffing is the only way to stop someone from doing something illegal unless they attack us, escaping sheriffs would be way too easy.

    Wait so if while they are being cuffed, how are they supposed to counteract the cuffs?

    So you want us to shoot more? With pleasure, but that means that there will be more misunderstandings between sheriffs and bandits when the sheriff can't handcuff.

    This is again avoiding the content of my argument. You should be able to cuff moving players but bot those players who are directly meleeing you.

    What I am saying, and what everyone seems to not be understanding is that I said that cuffs should not be able to be used on a player who is performing melee attacks on the sheriff. It doesn't make sense; however, handcuffs should be able to be placed on players who are walking around (because many people are not stationary while processing drugs or whatever).

    This doesn't make it any harder for sheriffs, all it will mean is that the bandits that try to shank you will be shot instead of arrested (which also is logical. You would shoot the person putting a dagger in your side repeatedly).

    OK. Even though our top priority is handcuffing, we sheriffs are more than willing to unload a Coach Gun in your face, if you attack us. So, is that what you want us to do? It'll benefit us more than handcuffing you, because we get all of your items. Not just the illegal ones.

    How would Mario code this? There's no definite way for the code to regard if someone is attacking you or not.

    Don't think it would need to be coded, it would just be set as a rule, and hopefully sheriffs would follow this rule like they do with all the other guidelines in the sheriff handbook

    It wouldn't, as we can't shoot at everyone we see in a base.
