No because as you should all be aware of by now, Planet Earth is slowly but surely running out of natural resources due to humanity's constant industrialization and manufacturing business. We use all of our globe's resources making cars and fueling them and ****. So, we need more dirt in this world to sediment itself onto the ground, thus increasing the pressure felt down in the depths of the crust and mantle, which will speed up the process for ores and petroleum and **** being formed. Save the Earth, spam Earth Element.

I think Kassyk shows an amazing example of this during matches, I'm a fan of his talents and bravery.

A cool down would solve this however.

Kill all strategies used by tbf so competitive ctf is now even more narrowed down to what you can and can't do!!!

The MMR would need to be very specific in how they defined it otherwise people would spend ages arguing about how they aren't "technically" earth spamming similar to how bowspam with archer is treated (maybe no more than two earth elements in a row without using a different element) but it would be very nice to have this added to MMR.

I think we should just nerf earth element, a cooldown could work just like @Codebastian said

Could you be more specific? Is there a certain time between shots, or a number of arrows fired before it's considered spam? Like throwing 3+ webs at a time is webspam. As stated above this rule would have to be made very clear, otherwise it would be difficult to enforce.

In addition, would the earth spam be in a certain area?(like earth spamming at a flag post) or just in general? Since teams generally vote against allowing ninja caps in a match, I don't see why earth spam needs to be added to mmr. It just seems annoying, not something completely gamebreaking. It just doesn't seem like a big deal, especially when I'd rather focus on reworks and small changes for classes.

Finally, this seems like a good counter to soldier. Elf really isn't the best class, and this gives it a good use on defense. This adds more power to defenses, if it's used correctly. Not enough people are doing this for it to be a huge issue. -1

this isn't what this thread is about. if I was posting suggestions for restrictions it would be in the ctf ideas section

earth spamming in general, as I stated in the title. the reason I chose to put it in mmr and not as a separate rule is because it's cheap. a lot of things are restricted individually in matches in the name of balance. the limits are there to balance the game and people ban ninja capping because they think its OP. earth element is just cheap. it is an easy tactic that is very strong. this is the same as most other things in mmr. item respawn abuse is in mmr because it's cheap, not necessarily because its op. same with things like flag burning and spamming webs/eggs/arrows etc. none of these things are particularly OP but they are all easy to do and are effective. earth element is the same so I believe it should be restricted under mmr as opposed to individually in matches.

again, it's cheap. flag burning is a good counter to soldier but its cheap so its not allowed. this is the same. just because its effective doesn't mean it should be allowed

just because not a lot of people do it doesn't mean it shouldn't be restricted. 414 capping was only ever done by 1 person, however as soon as it was brought up it was banned under mmr. plus just look at the poll, the majority of people are in agreement and (coincidence or not) everyone in disagreement is in TBF apart from Tristan who voted no as a joke

This tactic is really only used by TBF, and only in certain circumstances. This is not an "every match use earth spam to win" strategy. It's only useful on soldier op maps (ie blackout and lowrise) I wouldn't even call it effective the majority of the time. It all depends on the elfs aim, which is not hard to do. When we practice, we occasionally practice against this strategy, and frankly it's not hard to avoid.

I know you said before about how this wasn't really a suggestion, other wise it would be in a differently section. Team drama or whatever aside, what do you consider earth spam?

Medic teaming and insta capping can be practiced against as well, yet almost every team agrees against them for matches

Medic teaming, especially with sharpness is over powered. Insta capping isn't even a thing anymore since ninja doesn't have 10 pearls. Ninja capping itself isn't against mmr, and while it has been allowed in specific matches before generally teams leave out ninja capping.

Using the earth element to stop someone from moving and bring down classes that are in the air (soldier) is literally what it was designed to do. What's the point of even allowing the class in the game if it's not allowed to hit multiple shots in a row?(which doesn't happen as often as you'd think)

Medic teaming and ninja capping are very difficult to stop. Stopping an elf from using its earth element? Put a ninja on it, problem solved. Or, idk, step out of the way of the arrow? Elf was given earth element to do damage, and stop classes like soldier. Just remove the class from matches if you don't want it to hit multiple earth elements in a row (which is kind of the goal)

As stated above, this would be solved by adding a cool down. No need to have refs watch the occasional defensive elf, just give it a cool down. Problem solved
