Should bounties be implemented on raid?

    The whole purpose for bounties is to give an incentive to Pvp while making it another use for gold. For example, someone I want to target plays in a different timezone. I can place a bounty on that player for another individual to do the dirty work for me. Another example would be during KOTH. A bounty can be placed on the individual capturing, that way it makes it even more competitive. Once the individual is killed it should be announced in chat and a head should drop, that way it would give other players a chance to steal and claim the bounty for themselves and generally create even more competition.

    I made a thread about this a while ago and would love this too, but it is hard to make people not farm it or w/e if you have a friend to do it. I'll try to respond to this later once I reorganize my thoughts for a potential solution, but as far as I see, this is the only thing preventing it from being added.

    How about teamates can't collect the bounty, and if they leave their team there will be a timer until they can try to collect it. Lets say 12 hours to 1 day?

    You never know, like as it was stated above, throw a bounty on the person trying to cap koth, and that will get people to come out of spawn to attack and knock the person off then try and slay them out for the golden prize.

    Just thought of this, the bounties could also be used as wagers on people who are 1v1ing, could make gambling part of raid.

    Like the idea, but difficult to find a solution to alts/teammates killing their friends for the bounty.

    Maybe if you have a bounty and the larger it gets you get a small bonus reward, therefore making you want to actually stay alive to keep that bonus. (no idea what the bonus would be though)

    Here was my draft of the idea:

    Use a command to set a bounty on a player, and have another command to track current bounties (+ show in spawn)
    • Bounties would essentially be paying someone to go and kill them for you by using gold
    • Bounties will fail after X amount of days, returning the gold to the person who set it if their victim wasn’t killed
    • Shows the bounty on the person similar to ROGUE on WW
    • A possible idea to prevent farming is setting requirements to claim a bounty. Ie needing to be on a team for X amount of weeks, X amount of gold, and X amount of playtime on the server so that you couldn't just hop onto another team or have an alt kill you if it was placed on you. Also, since it is player gold going to someone, and not spawning resources, I think this solution might work, although it is quite complicated :u
    • Have a way to track bounty kills similar to staff xray logs + make alt kills bannable
    • A possible solution for the bounty could be x% of the bounty price paid deducted from the player's balance corresponding to the price paid. Example: the price to place a bounty on someone is 100g, and 120% of the bounty price deducted from the hunted player is the reward.

      Pros: people couldn't farm this with alts - they would be losing more than what they get. It would also allow for people to value bounties, ie I could place a 200g or 500 gold bounty on someone.

      Cons: negative balances would be needed so people couldn't just save their gold externally. This would require a lot of balance though, such as only allowing players to have a limit of a negative balance and stopping any bounties being placed on them if their balance is negative. Also, the bounty price would need a limit.

    I think this will go well with the announcement it makes once the head was dropped. Have it keep logs to see who killed the person and when it was dropped. Maybe this can even be added to the scoreboard and leaderboards. "Bounty Kills"

    people would just place bounties for stupid reasons. but yes good idea
