the reason why not many people are entering is simply because, well this is what i believe, the themes aren't catering to many people who enjoy building the certain theme. making the theme something more simple would have many more people entering. like, you could have a normal, standard theme that many people would like. i believe even if the topic was something like "medieval" you'd get way more people entering. "theme park" just seems like a subject not many people are interested in, maybe i'm wrong. i just think you should be more vague about your topics to open up a portal for more possibilites and fluctuating amounts of ideas

True, but we also believe that a theme like "medieval" or any theme that's just a style of building would only benefit a group of people, and would possibly be too vague and open of an idea that no one really knows what to build other than castles made of spruce and stone brick. We need to somehow go between being too specific and being too broad, but that's quite difficult if you ask me. So if you have any good ideas feel free to suggest them (pls not military) !!

There are actually different ways you can use the theme park theme to build pretty much anything. Since it's a theme park, anything is possible e.g. futuristic, medieval, apocalyptic theme. You don't have to stick to your standard modern theme park. You just have to be creative in interpreting the theme. I'd even say this is one of the most general themes they have yet to use in a building competition.

This might be for you, but we're talking about the vast majority of players on here, (7-12 year olds). Some people don't see the possibilities in a theme park

I'm only using medieval as an example. But it would be nice if it was an actual theme

Makes sense, but I see these very often in RP's :/ Maybe it's difficult to make it look nice at the first glance? Either way, this theme is not very well suited I guess, considering how many people decided not to participate because of the theme.

Medieval was a theme already :stuck_out_tongue:

Sheep refers to RPs, and if you reflect on it, RPs could actually benefit us, as many times they have a specific theme. And due to the fact that the RPs are many on Build we could use some of their themes, as that would be what people build the most.

The reason many don't join build comps is because
    1. A large portion of the Build community doesn't speak English
    2. Even if they do, they're very young kids who are not interested in building and competitive building even less, but RPing (they're 9, and playing with other kids is what they should do)
    3. Due to the reasons I pointed out, there are nearly no Build players on Forums, which makes it harder to spread knowledge
    4. Limited knowledge of World Edit; building something without WE is a big task
Many other reasons too, but I'm just going to say it simply here: Build does not have a building community. Build players are young kids who are not very interested in building, so obviously building competitions are not interesting. To put things into perspective the server I build on (the most succesful building server) has an age of around 16-30 years old in the "Member" area (where only skilled builders can build).

Ok, so, we picked theme park because you could make different styles but still have the general necessities. Example: medieval park, space park. Whereas if did just midieval, it would discourage the space builders because it focuses on one time period. We had to pick a topic that people know and is general.

Then if you really wanna appeal to EVERYONE, just make the theme something very very VERY vague like "Wow factor." Yeah, this theme might make it hard to judge but you could put the judging up to the whole build team and see who agrees. I'm not saying this SHOULD be a theme but it might be one to consider sometime. You could also, of course, make the themes relate to certain holidays or seasons that are nearby correlating to the time of announcement of the contest. You also have to consider how easy or hard it is to build the certain subject. You can't have like a (insert popular minigame server here) build battle theme like "dinosaur" or "meteor" or "planet" or something really random like that, you have to make it appeal to everyone. It's really hard to come up with a theme, but what I think is keep it simple and vague and not so specific. With it being simple, it's easier to have a larger percent of build players want to participate.
