    Hello fellow CTFers,

    The recent Assassin change received mixed feedback, with many players feeling annoyed by the lack of instakill redstone dust upon respawning. As a reminder, Assassin currently does not restore redstone and sugar upon respawning anymore. Thus, you can now decide what should happen with Assassin to make it more enjoyable again:

    1. Implement Cardonas hotfix: (gain sugar on respawn as before, reduce/half time to get redstone upon respawn, wait full time when typed /assassin)
    2. Revert to old assassin pre CTF Summer Update, unless /assassin is typed or selected over the class selector, then timer keeps running
    3. Keep assassin as it currently is, but gain sugar on respawn as before (timer only runs on redstone)
    4. Keep the current assassin / I don't know

    Edit: The second option of the forum poll above doesn't include the addition of "unless class is manually selected"!

    The poll will run until Tuesday, September 4th, 2018. There have been a few more suggestions since announcement of the poll which aren't acknowledged here, a larger Assassin rework would come at a later date. Happy capping! :flag:

    Option #2 is honestly the best. The old style of assassin was fairly balanced and had little to no issues and was fun to play.

    voted for 3. would be ok with 1 too tbh.

    can't really say that I played a whole lot of assassin, but especially after the little tweak I did, at least a bit.
    And the tweak makes you actually use your brain when playing defensively. You just don't get to (try to) kill everyone. You have to think who's worth going for and who's not. Sure that was part of assassin before the tweak too, but who cared? you died and could try again in about 10 seconds. It isn't as if it is totally unusable now.

    hate to bring up stats and bragging humbly but... I'm not an assassin main, yet each fifth kill was a recov for me (although often I just use assassin to clear a flagroom/kill a dwarf). With ninja which I played more than 4 times as often and much more defensively, it's about each 4th kill. is assassin really in such a terrible state?

    I believe the initial fix was supposed to stop respawn abuse, which tbf is a pretty good intention. The problem comes from waiting for your speed and assassinate to regain after you die legitimately, and for a bit the class is completely useless.

    Yes I think you're right about the 'initial' fix, it was very much needed. But to kill yourself and gain redstone back isn't really that much of an effort either. On certain maps, dying and getting to the flagpost again is a matter of less than 10 seconds, and sometimes you don't even need another player to die because the environment provides you with enough opportunities to get your redstone back (or, harshly said: kill yourself)
    I also wouldn't say that dealing as much damage as a soldier and (depending on the circumstances and after option 1 or 3 definitely) being the fastest class ingame for a short time is completely useless (not having mentioned that you may as well deal more damage because some players will still be careful since they think you still have redstone)... But ohwell, personallly, I think it's a bit much to say that it's 'completely useless'. I mean it's still more useful than a normal necro ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
