Lately people have been complaining about infect on 2.0. It was fun on Legacy War because you could get a high killcount with the ray or LAW, but that's not the case in War 2.0. Most people don't like infect, it's usually the survivors who win unless there is a donator amongst the zombies who has grenades. I don't really mind infect but it can be quite boring.

I'll add a poll to see what the community thinks about this.

infect is only fun when you're a last survivor mowing down a horde of zombies. Or ofc a donator who can just chuck grenades at them. When you're a zombie rushing the same people over and over again just to keep getting killed or a survivor camping the entire game it gets extremely boring. Of course you don't have to camp, but even that way there's such a high risk of getting killed that no one does it. I agree, it should either be reworked or removed.

Thats just wrong. I really enjoy infected, evan when im the first ifected. And that the nades would be neccassary to win is just wrong. Often enough I win as infected lets say so 60% of my rounds in inf.

sure sometimes the survivors play better than the infected. But the infected have to know how to win. First they have to wander around and get some players which are spread over the map. The last are often camping at open or very difficult to reach spots. Now u have 2 ways o win:
    - on the wide open spots, u have to simpley overwhelm ur enemy. Atack with such a mass of infected so he cant shoot em all.
    - way 2. atack so long till he runs out of ammo. thats really quick except he uses UMP or RPK with bandolier. then he has over 300 shots for his main gun and will be only be possible to get killed with way 1.

So u can say in the end there are those 2 simple technikes which will let u win rounds of infected without those unneccessary, game destroying nades.

Infect only being fun when you have access to very OP weapons says a lot about the gamemode. It's very, very difficult to balance Infect so it's fun for both sides, so I agree, it should be removed.

Ice Bear disagrees the guns aren't necessarily OP as the war team does much efforts to balance the weapons. Ice Bear says literally any gun from the humble level 1 M4 to the level 62 Scar will perform the same and will be fun regardless. The problem is mainly the OP camping spots which can be balanced with map edits which the war team is working on. As of now the only way to counter OP camping spots is infected nades. The example that martial_arts gave isn't even true either as bandolier does not work in infect the only thing is that the weapons he cited are slow firing weapons in the first place and in all honesty are some of the worst weapons in the game. Infected nades aren't that OP as long as you are playing the game smart and not camping like a noob. Ice Bear says that the players will just have to play smarter. Finally, there are plans to balance the game for infected players when there isn't any Elite players for infect grenades. @martial_arts

The nades have become more OP since the exploding time has been reduced, it is now harder to dodge nades.

The way I see infect is this:
    - Either one (or more) zombies have a grenade, boom survivors lose.
    - No zombies have any nades, (as long as they pay attention) survivors win.
There's hardly an in between. Ben and I talked a bit about a potential solution which we will be pitching to the rest of the War staff that could potentially fix, or at least aid the issue. I do not want to remove infect because it's such a classic gamemode, ya'know?

If there is a good solution then it shouldn't be removed, I'm curious what the solution could be.

Ice Bear says often times finding players isn’t the issue finding the players it is reaching them.

@IceBear32 UMP and RPK are very good. maybe u just dont know how to play em? and yea maybe bandolier doesnt work in infected. didnt recognice till now. but fact is that those 2 guns ahve nearly 400 rounds. And I ask u: How many rounds have u won till now without camping? I actually saw exactly one guy doing that. that was celezian with scar. exactly one time in my whole 206h (or more) play time.

Ice Bear has way more experience when it comes to MCWAR compared to you 323 hours of play time not including the play time from Ice_Bear2. Ice Bear has played both guns probably more than the majority of players (on Ice_Bear2). Ice Bear is quite good when determining what guns are good or not but don’t take Ice Bear’s word for it look at the amount of players who use RPK or UMP or look at their stats. It is fairly obvious that they are bad guns compared to other weapons. Ice Bear says that having 400 hundred ammo just makes up a bit for how bad they. Ice Bear says that the majority of infect Ice Bear has played lately have not been camping. Ice Bear has discovered that roaming as a survivor is much more rewarding because if you can get kills while others wait camping in the back. Maybe it is time for players to use a bit more skill than camping and roam. Ice Bear says your question about how many rounds Ice Bear has won without camping many and those were some of the best infect games going 20-0 or even better. Ice Bear thinks more players just need to assert more skill rather than camping OP spots. If you really are trying to defend to defend skilless and OP camping spots then it shows that you just want infect to remain a skilless kdr grinding game.

Irrelevant and who cares about the amount of games Ice Bear has won without camping in infect. The argument is on why camping should be discouraged and why the UMP45 and RPK are bad. Of course Ice Bear camps in infect sometimes why? It is one of the safest tactics in the game and easy to do that is just doing what you need to win but when that tactic gives infected players 0 chance of winning then it must be fixed which can be done by nerfing OP camping spots. Infect nades are just ways to punish players who camp in OP spots.

But its redicolous to call not camping a pro tactic, if its nearly impossible to win with it LMAO. Than u apologize that camping is the tactic survivors have to do to win? Cause if u do that, that would mean that nades (what they actually evan do) detroy the game for survivors.

Ice Bear says that roaming is a pro tactic and one that Ice Bear uses with success. Ice Bear says it can be even stronger with more survivors roaming for a group. Camping is not absolutely required to win it is just the easiest way to win.

Although I acknowledge it's possible to win without camping, it's pretty hard, particularly for player who aren't at your level of skill Ice Bear. I can think of very few players who would be able to pull that off, let alone consistently so you can't blame people for camping.

Since camping is such an integrated part of Infect, and basically every does it every round of Infect, grenades are necessary in order to kill people who sit on top of buildings that can't be reached or sit in the corner of a big open space where they can see everyone coming from a long way away @martial_arts.

Also I would say Ice bear has a lot of experience to do with guns and although you can't take someone 's opinions as absolute truth I'd say he has one of the best ideas out of anyone. I agree that the RPK is terrible because of it's accuracy and firerate, and the UMP is not that bad but is not great.

ok but than u could at least higher the fuse time of nades again. I heard somewhere it got shortened and it rly feels like it got shortened. Higehr it on 3 sec like normal nade again and we can maybe talk abut fairness when the topic is on em.

They were buffed because they were not very good in Team Death Match. Since we don't use different grenades in Infect both of them were changed, but it is not a noticeable difference. We are trying to find a way to balance Infect more in regards to grenades but the problem is equally with survivors having the advantage as well as zombies. If there is no zombie with a grenade survivors win almost every time. If a zombie has a grenade, zombies win almost every time. Because of this it's pretty difficult to balance it out because nerfing one aspect of it (whether it be camping or grenades) means that when the other side has the advantage anyway it will be even more pronounced.
