Here is an idea that is not necessary original, but the usage of this idea is.

X-ray. In raid, this annoying trick players use is extremely time consuming. You can ruin the economy, you can waste peoples time raiding their trackers, or you can simply X-ray their bases, ruining the experience of raid for a lot of people. Although X-ray is unavoidable, there is a specific strategy being used by many other servers.

The strategy goes like this. The server adds a feature that will basically change any stone blocks into random ores if any player turns on any texture pack that isn't the original texture pack. This idea was brought up to brawl a couple times, but was declined for 2 reasons.

Reason 1: This idea would work, but if added, will cause a lot of lag to the game. This would ruin the quality of raid, while making the main events in the game practically unplayable. There is a way to prevent this, however, and that would be to turn off this plug in only when events are being ruined. That way, if an event is currently being played, the plug in won't cause a ton of lag and ruin the event.

Reason 2: Many players have their own custom texture packs, and by adding this, many players would be forced to play using the original texture pack. This would suck and I don't agree to that, however, we could add a plug in that allows players to decline this plug in whenever they want, but when doing so it will be visible to any staff members. This also fixes the issue with lag, if a player cannot play without lagging a ton under this plug in, they can turn it off.

A final addition to this plug in could be a "History" section regarding its activeness for a certain player. Lets say a player decides to X-ray. He will probably turn off the plug in temporary to X-ray, then quickly turn it back on to reduce the suspicion from staff. If we added a history section to this, staff could see the last time a certain player was or was not using the built in plug in, possibly helping them out as they bust an X-ray hacker.

Now you might say, "what happens if a player does not use the built in plug in?". Heres why it's useful. Any staff member whose on-line can use this to see if certain players are always using the plug in. If they are, the staff member doesn't have to waste time checking them, because if they were X-raying, the plug in would prevent it. It would also help them specifically check out players who don't use the plug in more, filtering out players. You would never get a ban for not using the plug in, it would just help staff immediately rule out certain players if you do.

    Expanding on your points:

    1) is no longer an issue, Brawl is on a new backend and the player count is not high enough to cause lag issues like there has been in the past.
    2) agree, if the plugin adds a ton of 'fake' dia at a level and a mod sees a player constantly mining to it, it becomes obviousl that they are x-raying.

    1) Lag can be an issue, these types of plugins are incredibly resource heavy. It's sending millions of blocks of block data to every players client. However if we assume no stress will be caused on the server by this, read below:
    2) To be effective, these plugins replace every stone/ore below a certain level. There are some that replace all ores, and then replace stone with fake pockets, but then a staff member has to be watching at the time, with the same data being sent to their client.

Ultimately, while it may prevent Xray, it is only going to prevent ore Xray, not base/tracker xraying. It is far better to catch someone ore xraying and ban them before they do damage to bases.

Here is where cloakers come into play.

Every player has 2 of them and they cover a 10×10×10

Cloakers have been used on Raid ages ago back on McPvP, and they were expensive to maintain, so people wouldn't want to waste them.

Ore xray is already very easy to tackle as long as we have active staff members checking suspicious mining logs, and the best way to counter base xray is through cloakers IMO.

Cloakers are something I'd like to go towards. They are quite complex to do however, to make them work correctly. McPvP's clockers had numerous bugs which often left bases wiped, or their chests empty; which is obviously something we want to avoid.

Woha so much text XD no thanks. ;But from the first 20 words i'd like to say that like 5 of my warps got raided last week and all of them were xray. The mod's are really good at seeing if it's xray or not.

Just a thought but, wouldn't it be easier/less demanding of the server, to change the textures of the valuable ores to stone?

Ore xray is no problem on raid. Either people do it blatantly so it really obvious as the melon said or they are so cautious that hardly benefits them. Moreover it might lag the server to permanently load this many updates on ores. Same if ALL bases would turn into stone.

It is rather about very valuable bases. Not even about trackers bc they usually are at 0050 or 0100 cords so its easy to find them anyways. So i think the least straining option for the server is to give each player 2 "cloakers" (barely anyone has more than 2 vaults) which cloak each a 10×10×5

Honestly if you want to prevent xray on ores, just use a plugin that makes ores random and don't pop up until you are 2 to 3 blocks away from them. Xraying ores isn't the big issue, its bases which can't really be prevented and that is why they have the roll back system with Mod+ being able to check bases. Then you need to wait for an SMod+ that knows how to roll back and you get your stuff back.

The 1 thing that anoys me is that there is only 1 Staff member which actually does rerolls what takes some time sometimes and has an untimate veto.
On Teamd it used to be a lot more flexible. MODs could reroll and if 2 out of 3 agreed it would get rerolled.

I agree with this. I mean Eil is the only one who Rerolls and my base got xrayed once and it took like 24h for him to get on. Even if Carno is my brother and confirmed xray in the next 10 seconds

I’m down for a new system,

If raid gets 2 or 3 mods. Maybe a system where if 2/3 - 2/2 mods agree then sMod+ can re roll bases. That would mean a lot more people capable of doing it

What if someone wanted to use a custom pack that’s not X-ray but this got in the way of that?
