Back in the days Brawl had way more players then it does now, today brawl is lucky if it even has 100 players on at a time. Ever since the revamp where they got rid of games such as WIld West, Mc-WarZ and KitBrawl the server has had a massive decrease in players.

I played on this server for a long time a while ago and I really enjoyed the mode Wild West and when I came back to find they got rid of it I quit the server, I loved the mode and so did a lot of people getting rid of it made a ton of people unhappy. And this is the case for many other gamemodes they got rid of. And I have no idea why they did this, I know this happend a while ago but I still want to make this seen. We want our favorite modes back does anyone agree?

I'm currently trying to get Wild West back on Brawl. While I can't give details, I will say I'm closer than ever getting it out since Wild West was first shut down (though that doesn't mean it'll be any time soon, unfortunately). WarZ has been brought back but isn't as popular anymore, and I'm currently working on trying to revive that almost 100% based on community input. KitPvP has not been removed, but it is no longer very popular. My main focuses at the moment are Wild West, WarZ and Party 2.0, but when I have the time, KitPvP will be my next focus.

I think the staff team collectively, including many higher-ups, realise the mistakes we've made in the past and we're currently working on rectifying them. WarZ 2.0 was definitely a mistake and that did not help player counts, and I'm currently working on sorting things out for both gamemodes effected.

Brawl is slowly declining, not from money issues, but from lack of players the only gamemode that really gets players is Capture the Flag.

Fairly certain I saw a stolen/cracked copy of it up already.

Yep, there is a stolen version of Wild West going around, but most of the old WW community would rather a version be released on Brawl (as far as I can tell) - and even then, we have more resources to compete with them.

brawl has made some pretty bad management decisions regarding a lot of its game modes but it's not entirely brawl's fault. gamemodes like ww or warz seemed doomed to fail because the general minigame factors for mc servers have changed dramatically over the years.

nowadays when people go to minigame servers they want to just jump in and have some quick fun for 10 minutes or 10 hours. see hypixel - follows this exactly for nearly all it's minigames. this is also why capture the flag and party has so much potential to be ridiculously popular if the right decisions are made. kitpvp also has potential but soup pvp servers have generally just fizzled out in popularity. they still can be popular, but nowhere as they used to or can be now unless some really good innovations come.

gamemodes like warz, hunger games, uhc, etc are just not popular anymore. they require you to go out and spend all this time and work on grinding, leveling up, etc and at a split second all that work is removed and you'll have to start all over. this dramatically differs from the established fast and easy formula of mini games nowadays. ww will suffer these exact problems too if it's somehow reintroduced. all these game modes were suffering player drops way before they were reworked by brawl (hg, ww, warz) and not only on brawl - but almost every server. hypixel has thousands of players on every day but it's uhc get's maybe 30 players on a good day. all it's grindy, leveling system gamemodes do nowhere near as well as it's other simpler and faster gamemodes.
now this doesn't mean they are guaranteed to fail. these minigames still have potential to be popular especially since the simple and quick formula has been used for years now - people will be looking for change. but you'd have to do everything right and make good innovations to it.
also have some good advertisement. doesn't matter how well you make a gamemode, if nobody knows about it nobody will play it.

tl;dr - brawl made some dumb decisions. stop focusing on large, grindy game modes and work on smaller, faster game modes like ctf and party. warz, hg, ww, br, etc, wont work unless you make every right decision which currently idc how right you think you know how to do it, isn't worth risking all the money and dev time to work on.

my suggestions would be to release party 2.0. continue improving ctf and focus not solely on competitive but on casual and noob friendliness. advertise them both as well as you can. once they start establishing their own larger playerbases - then you can focus on other stuff. kitpvp additions, fast build version updates, wild west reintroduction, whatever. stop working backwards on this.

You make a pretty good point, But I believe the game modes that brawl had was what made them keep a fair player base. Cause all the other major servers are doing that and there isn't much servers for people who like the grindy game modes to play on. Brawl getting rid of those game modes made those types of players leave the server, which u can tell by the massive decrease in player's brawl has gotten. So instead of bringing back all the game modes bring back the ones that where popular such as Wild West. It kind of is a little to late but you never know. Think of it, Brands that appeal to a larger audience out compete the competition or ones that bring up a new idea that is liked by the majority, while others appeal to a smaller audience where they still keep a general fan base they appeal to (This is highly simplified).

Another reason for the drop of playerbase on brawl could just be the fact that minecraft is a dying game in general, but I think attempting to bring back some of these old gamemodes would really help brawl out especially considering that minecraft is having a resurge in popularity, and some players returning to the game could remember the brawl server, as it is very old.

MC isnt a dying game, its just not as popular (yes they're different things, minecraft still has 20 million more monthly players than fortnite)
but brawl in general made the worst decisions when it comes to gamemodes (aka chap administration) and putty doesnt have all the money in the world so he cant do much even if he tries.
Maybe adding something like bed wars or speed builders and it might work

    This this this this this

Makes absolutely 0 sense to spend loads of time and money on gamemodes that aren't ever going to be played. Nobody wants to spend hours learning how to play a server with 10 players on max. Party is perfect for new players, that should be the main selling point. Give them long term achievements to keep them coming back then direct them to CTF, which is still casual but has enough depth to keep people entertained for literally years. Have Build as support for mapmaking for both servers.

If it were down to me I'd completely avoid all the other servers except for routine bug fixes and balance changes. Literally just not worth it to invest in them at this point.

The main issue with Party is it isn't very competitive, so doesn't perform well monetary-wise. It's great for bringing in new players to the server but we should have more gamemodes than just CTF to funnel them to.

a lot of players with little monetary value is better than next to no players with little monetary value. sure, you can't sell them much but it gives you an idea of what you're working with and the player boost will flow over to other gamemodes. if the majority of the playerbase starts to come from party, out of all brawl's gamemodes they'd likely only be interested in CTF and kitpvp, maybe war2, where monetization can happen.
Another way to diverge the party playerbase is to add gamemode-like minigames to it to interest others to other gamemodes which will be advertised after said minigame ends. Ex: a CTF minigame including only the free classes and you must capture the flag 3 times on a small/medium map (depending on the amount of players). Once it's over, everyone will be advertised to "Want more of this minigame? Continue on our CTF server!" this could be applied for war2, kitpvp, etc. It'd be a great way to not only advertise all the other gamemodes to the theoretical main playerbase smoothly, but it'd add more content to party players.
also it's ridiculous party 2.0 hasn't been released yet despite it being done completely. If not completely, then what? 95%?

none of brawl's other gamemodes besides ctf has an established playerbase with continuous updates. you'd be shooting yourself in the foot trying to make party players play warz or smthn.

Competitiveness has no bearing on monetisation, and even if it did it's impossible to do without a healthy playerbase. Brawl would see far more success in trying to monetise the gamemodes that people are actually interested in. For Party, for example, you could have boosters that allow for certain maps or minigames to be played, or an add-on that broadcasts your server-wide rank. It would be a huge mistake to focus on things that only a handful of players will see or use.

This and having the ranks at reasonable prices would certainly help.

I like the idea of bedwars but if added it should be an original game mode, not just a direct copy (like what 90% of the servers have)
