Stalemate Solution Proposal

    So I've already asked this in the CTF Staff Q&A, but I was curious what others think of it. What is your opinion on allowing players to capture the flag even if the other team has the flag?

    What would be the point if back-up stealing then? Back up steal is when you have to steal the flag before the other team captures, but now since it is if no use, there is going to be the entire team on the flag carrier. I don’t think it is a very good idea, because then the game would be more speed-oriented.

    I agree with Exeadra that it would just be a rush whenever someone steals, and it would make it impossible for the other team to counter it by stealing. I think it would remove a unique thing in CTF and a great solution to the other team stealing. I think increasing the flag poison and maybe decreasing the healing they get from any class (especially medic) is the best solution because it would definitely make recovery easier and I don't see how this is unfair since it is exactly the same for both carriers and if you want to make recovery easier, it will disadvantage the flag carrier in any way and make them struggle more, even if you buff the enemies near the flag. For me it doesn't matter if it's the flag that deals more damage or if it's the opponents because anyways the flag poison wouldn't kill you and you would have to get killed by opponents to die.

    Interesting idea but I think this would easily overwhelm the defense and would somewhat lead to support classes being rendered as not being as important (i.e. Soldiers/ninjas/heavy/even medics can just steal one after another by themselves, don't really need support owo and they can make it across map quick and capture easily if recov is not heap on them) and I also believe that this would make the map end too quickly if we were allowed to capture the flag even when the other team has the flag.     Imo it upsets the balance of the game; if you are one cap away from winning, there is no point in keeping up your defense since the enemy team will most likely be unable to stop a large push unless they can steal the flag from your weakened defense (which is theoretically offending). It makes games very quick and is still an interesting concept, maybe an idea for an event? @redslime

    Definitely. That's what I thought during the Q&A when this was brought up, good chance something like this will happen as an event
