I don't know how to make two seperate polls so it's just one where you can answer to two questions.

  1. Yes 6h cooldown

    42.9%
  2. Yes but not 6h cooldown

    28.6%
  3. No cooldown *Because I never want to die and use my duped gold.

  5. No to lower durability *because I want to fill up my inventory with non-functional recrafts

    First off lets talk about gapples.

    Since you all know @pool kinda inflated the server with 100k gold which made gold (for some people) worth nothing. And people started bringing 15+ god apples to fights.
    Here is a beautiful example demonstrated by Former SLIME current Breacher *jk it's basically the same team who could have guessed that lower team cap doesn't work

    here you can even see that he only needs one set of recrafts. Which is hilarious, you should need at least 4 since you will have used 4 sets once your pants break (one set)

    To be able to even try to counter this you need an inventory like this:

    I could not show it with p4 since I no longer have p4.

    Anyways, this inventory should say enough. It is no longer SoupPvP it is literally GodApplePvP.

    So to counter this problem I have a very simple answer and solution. Make a 6h Gapple Cooldown. Since gapples should still be a thing since it's a part of vanilla.

    For the next map, we should not be able to craft gapples. We should only be able to find them in caves etc like in vanilla.
    Secondly: We need to adress durability.
    As most people can see on the picture of me demonstrating how an inventory shoud look like you can see that there are way to many recrafts. Now imagine if I would be using netherrite. I would need way more recrafts.
    Now think about how recrafts are laggy. This just removes the entire point of fighting since you are sooner or later going to quickdrop because of the recrafts. So this is something which has to be worked on aswell.

    This should not be a discussion, mans really had 64 gapples on a survival pvp server.

    You made an idea post to solve a problem caused by duplication.

    Gapples would not be problematic if the gold economy wasn't inflated by gold farms and duplication. CalledRainer would be a phenomenal individual to work with to balance the gold economy, he is very knowledgeable. Pool would be a phenomenal individual to work with to prevent duplication glitches, he has found more glitches than any other player on the network.

    For armor durability- not a bad concept. It accomplishes the same goal as simply removing recrafts, just in a different, less direct matter. You make it so that whoever hits more wins, since the opponents armor will break. Removing recrafts accomplishes the same goal, but instead of losing because your armor broke first, you lose because you had to soup more.

    Hopefully dupe and gold farming isn't problematic in the future, because if it is, then these ideas might seriously need to be considered as a band aid fix for those issues.

    duping and gold inflation is literally always going to be a thing though. there's no preventing nor stopping it.

    You can remove gold farms, and then dupes are only solved through diligence and rapid response to issues. It is tough, you're right, but I dont think it will be as big of an issue next map.

    Honestly the problem is that people have been saying since start of the map to put a gapple cooldown, after (5) months (?) still no cooldown has been added. There are clear problems which arent been fixed.

    - Gapple cooldown
    - Anchor cooldown or disable

    also 1.16 is a big problem atm, it takes you whole map lenght to fix couple bugs/glitches, this is going to take couple years to get 1.16 to work even okay

    Wouldn't hurt to add a gapple cooldown though since that would prevent gapples to becoming to op in the future, even if there won't be a dupe or any gold inflation.
    Not if the people responsible don't say how to fix it and just tell new players how to do it instead (or older players who also just want to destroy the server)

    A gapple cooldown might not be the solution, although at the same time it might.

    Gold problems with dupes etc. have caused too many issues, and IMO it's not a good idea to make a decision like this until we can first try nerfing gold.

    Once gold if nerfed and the inflation calms down, we can see if gapples are still an issue and of so, add the cooldown.

    The gap issue won't exist ever again, if the advice I have proposed is taken. However, on the off chance that my advice isn't enough, then maybe we can have a talk about gap cooldowns. For now, more time invested should be rewarded, after all this isn't kitpvp.

    I do not believe the people responsible are developers, therefore they wouldn't know how to fix it? I know that the bugs were revealed, so I'm not sure why you're trying to provoke a response from anyone here. No one wants a dupe in the game.

    Quality discussion post nonetheless, but I think you should put the thought on pause until one month into next map. There is a good chance the issue resolves itself, but if it doesn't, definitely bump this thread.

    nOoNe WaNtS a DuPe In ThE gAmE <- you got that wrong.

    2ndly, even if gapples won't be a problem next map I do not see a problem with adding a cooldown since the problem isn't about people getting gapples the problem is about people using gapples too much and making it feel like factions (not hardcore factions).

    I fail to see your point. I'm saying the latter won't be problematic next map (most likely) so I'm not quite sure what your point is. If gapples aren't a problem, then how can they be used too much? If there simply aren't enough gapples to do that, how can it still be a problem? I look forward to your reply.

    If they exist they are a problem. Also writing a code to add a cool-down shouldn’t be hard at all and there are plenty of free ones on websites like bucket list so why not just add it?

    Never said anything about how hard it is.

    Youre using the current situation to promote your interest in abolishing gapples. Gaps are fine, and players who work hard to get enough gold should be able to use them. There won't be enough for it to be an issue, so there is no need for any sort of cooldown.

    Xrayers. People xray, get banned but have already inflated the community with gold. And then there's also the fact that even if you spend your entire life playing this it shouldn't make it gapple pvp.

    I looked into it already, and I promise you it won't be an issue.

    If xray inflation is really an issue, the Petworth mods need perms to track the gold down to solve that issue. But I doubt that, because ore alerts already get xrayers banned quite quickly.
